    Description

1939 Lewis "Hack" Wilson Signed Baseball Centennial First Day Cover, PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. Perhaps the most unusual-looking player enshrined at Cooperstown, Wilson carried 195 pounds on his five-foot six frame, balanced on short legs and tiny size six feet. Hack Wilson still manages to hold the single-season RBI record (191) despite the prodigious slugging talents of today's players.

An early passing combined with a Hall of Fame induction forty-five years after his final game ensure that supply will never keep up with demand of high quality Wilson signatures - as this offering is. Signed in Near Mint-Mint quality blue fountain pen with his full name, the June 26th, 1939 dated first day cover displays impeccably. Mild mailing wear and aging exhibited with a "Baseball Centennial" graphic featuring prominently in the upper left corner. Reverse shows slight remnants of where the envelope was once affixed to a scrapbook. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8.
