    Description

    Lee MacPhail Signed Vintage Photograph.
Fresh out of college in 1941 Lee MacPhail followed in his father's footsteps, becoming business manager of a minor league team in Pennsylvania, then general manager in Toronto, and then joining his father's organization, the New York Yankees, being named the general manager of the Yanks' Double-A club in Kansas City in 1946 before being promoted to director of player personnel, where he stuck until 1958 (winning nine pennants and seven World Series). The Baltimore Orioles took notice of his talents and stole him away from New York, hiring him as president and general manager where he orchestrated the O's acquisition of Frank Robinson.

MacPhail continued on through various executive roles within the Office of the Commissioner, the American League, and the MLB Player Relations Committee. In 1998 the elder MacPhail was joined in Cooperstown by the younger, becoming the first father and son duo to earn the honor.

Offered is a vintage 8x10" photograph that has been signed in blue sharpie by MacPhail. The reverse of the image features the typed caption "Mike Burke greets father & son: Larry MacPhail & Lee MacPhail GM of Yanks" and a Louis Requena stamp. Light-to-moderate wear exhibited throughout, with the corners taking the brunt. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA
