    Description

Late 1930's Rabbit Maranville Signed Baseball. Soon after having been named manager of the 1925 Cubs, he made his rounds through a Pullman car dumping water on sleeping players' heads and announcing, "No sleeping under Maranville management, especially at night!" Despite his irreverent nature, the tiny infielder is remembered as one of the era's top talents, earning a Hall of Fame plaque for his efforts. Sadly, that day came months after his passing in January of 1954, limiting the availability of his important autograph to the collecting hobby. This 6/10 side panel offering resides upon an Official International League sphere that has undergone a magical chemical process to remove all signatures but Maranville's. With quality singles reaching $5,000 at auction on the rare occasions that one surfaces, this should be an appealing alternative for the dedicated autograph hound. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

    Guide Value or Estimate: $2,000 - $4,000.
