Late 1930's Lou Gehrig Single Signed Baseball. The luckiest man on the face of the earth will change the luck for one of the many collectors searching high and low for his rare single. With a modesty proportional to his enormous skills, Gehrig did not find himself perpetually at the center of a large crowd clamoring for autographs like his teammate Babe Ruth, and the scarcity of his autograph today is a clear indication of this fact. Here we find his 4/10 black fountain pen ink signature on the side panel of an ONL (Frick) ball, the solid red stitching dating the sphere beyond 1933. One could reasonably assume that the National League ball suggests Fall Classic vintage, adding further appeal to a piece with no small supply thereof. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
