    Description

Late 1920's Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. The celebrated Yankee duo's appearance upon an OAL baseball from the presidency of Ernest Barnard allows us to pinpoint the autographs to a period between 1927 and Barnard's untimely 1931 death, placing the presented sphere at the height of the pair's slugging abilities. Ideal display is provided by Ruth and Gehrig's appearance together on a side panel, rather than the much more typical arrangement with the Babe occupying the sweet spot. Each black fountain pen signature registers at a strength of 4/10 to 5/10 against the ancient toned horsehide. Various patches of deeper toning on the ball remain clear of the autographs. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
