    Description

Dan Bankhead Signed Index Card. Offered is a signed index card from Dan Bankhead the first black pitcher in the major leagues. After a strong career in the Negro Leagues playing for the Memphis Red Sox, Branch Rickey signed him at age 24. Dan hit a home run in his first major league at bat. He won only nine games in his career for the Dodgers, but his importance to the game far outshines that statistic. He passed away in 1976. JSA Auction LOA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
