    Description

Early 1940's Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. Though his peerless slugging skills alone would have secured his fame and popularity, the generous Babe's unwavering kindness and availability to children played a large role in his status as the world's most beloved sports celebrity. A young girl named Florence Gonna earned an audience with the Bambino during a taping of his NBC radio program in the early 1940's, and here we present her souvenirs of the occasion, most notably an ONL (Frick) baseball bearing a 7/10 black fountain pen sweet spot signature. The ball exudes a creamy, vintage tone, insulated from any handling wear by decades spent in its original and included box. Also here is a typed page of the lyrics to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," a certificate (facsimile signed) recognizing Florence's participation in the radio broadcast, and the small cue card holding the question she asked Ruth on the air.
