Circa 1952 Ted Williams U.S. Marine Corps Signed Identification Badge with Fingerprint. Exceedingly rare and important relic was issued for The Kid's military service either in the Second World or Korean War, though his somewhat more mature appearance in the small photograph suggests the latter. Williams' signature, and that of the "Validating Officer" appear on front of the plastic-sealed badge, the former rating approximately 6/10. On reverse is Williams' fingerprint, presumably to assist in identification should the baseball legend have perished in a crash of his fighter plane. The best military-related Williams artifact we've encountered. Dimensions 2.25x3.75". Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
