    Description

Circa 1952 Mickey Mantle & Joe DiMaggio Dual-Signed Baseball. The New York Yankees' centerfielder and centerpiece positions underwent a highly publicized changing of the guard with the arrival of Mantle prior to the 1951 season and the departure of DiMaggio at the conclusion of the 1951 season. Joe signs the sweet spot of this OAL (Harridge) sphere with Mickey on the panel below, parallel to his fellow icon and close enough to allow for simultaneous display, is truly an uncommon blessing. The Yankee Clipper also inscribes and signs the panel directly to the right of his sweet spot application to New York Times photographer Ernie Sisto: "To my buddy Ernie from Joe DiMaggio."

The ball has aged to a desirable cream color and the league stamping is still readily evident. The ink signatures and inscription grade an overall 8/10 in strength, and feature a nice early Commerce Comet. Letter of provenance from Barbara Sisto Wortman (daughter of Ernie Sisto). Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
