Circa 1950 Jackie Jensen Single Signed Baseball. Although never playing professional football, Jensen is still considered one of the best two-sport stars of his era. An All-American at Cal, Jensen placed fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1948, and shortly thereafter began his professional baseball career. Playing behind Mickey Mantle proved to be a roadblock with the Yankees, leading to Jensen ultimately playing out his career with the Senators and Red Sox. A fear of flying caused Jensen to retire prematurely. This particular ONL (Frick) baseball has been personalized with birthday greetings to Dick, and the entire written area has been coated with shellac to preserve the autograph. The signature rates an 8/10 and the baseball itself is in excellent condition. COA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
