    Description

Circa 1940s Connie Mack Ephemera Including Signed Lithograph, Lot of 7. The Tall Tactician Connie Mack is the subject of the group lot we offer here, most of which are items that originated in the 1940s. A handsome 7.5x10" black-and-white lithographic print depicting Mack in his trademark spiffy attire headlines this lot, as it has been applied with a remarkable black fountain ink signature in the HOF manager's hand. Next we present a commemorative program from 1944 that celebrates Mack's 50th year as a manager at the big league level. Program exhibits some wrinkling to the front cover, but overall condition is Excellent. The 1943 program from Connie's 80th birthday Testimonial Dinner is also here, complete with decorative tassel. Unfortunately, the ravages of time got the better of this item and both covers have become separated from the periodical's body. A black-and-white 8x10" vintage photo as well as clippings from mid-1940s newspapers depict Mack as he conducts himself in his predictably noble manner. Rounding out the lot is a 1944 ticket stub from the Shibe Park which makes yet another mention to Mack's 50 years of service in baseball management. Wonderful commemoration of the man whose half-century of service to the Philadelphia Athletics and baseball in general has elevated him to legendary status. LOA from PSA/DNA.
