    Description

Circa 1940 Roy L. Patterson Single Signed Baseball. Quite possibly the only example in the world today, the presented horsehide sphere was signed by the hand that fired the first pitch in American League history. Patterson was a twenty-four year old rookie for the Chicago White Sox on April 24, 1901, when the Cleveland Blues visited South Side Park to give birth to a challenger to the supremacy of the National League. His 7/10 blue ballpoint side panel signature is notated with the details of his service, "White Sox 1900-1907." Ball is toned and has shed its manufacturer's stamping, but provides a nice vintage patina suitable for this historic figure. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
