    Description

Circa 1940 Cum Posey Signed Cut Signature. One of the most significant figures in the history of the Negro Leagues, Cumberland Posey rose through the ranks of the Homestead Grays from a player in 1911, to manager by 1916, to owner in the early 1920's. With legends like Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard and Judy Johnson at his disposal, Posey would lead the Grays to nine consecutive pennants between 1937 and 1945 and earn enshrinement in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Here we present a rare example of Posey's essential signature, clipped from a diploma for the Homestead High School where he served as an administrator in his time away from the diamond. His black fountain pen autograph is unimprovable. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
