Circa 1937 Bill Dickey, Frank Crosetti & Others Signed Original Type 1 Photographs Lot of 6. The years 1936 and 1937 saw the Yankees win back-to-back World Series championships during one of their most incredible decades. Although Babe Ruth was retired and Lou Gehrig was nearing the end, rookie Joe DiMaggio stepped in as the next Yankee superstar. Meanwhile, the same solid core of guys like Bill Dickey, Tony Lazzeri, Red Ruffing and Lefty Gomez continued to hit and pitch like the champions they were.

This lot of six rare type 1 original photographs date from 1936 to 1937, based upon similar companion pieces of Joe DiMaggio and Tony Lazzeri, whose careers in pinstripes only crossed paths in those two seasons. The crisp images on these 8x10" photos have been signed by six of the Yankees: Bill Dickey, (secretarial) Frank Crosetti, Myril Hoag, Jack Saltzgaver, Roy Johnson and Jack La Rocca. The photos feature bold 9-10/10 signatures. Photos have minor corner wear but are in excellent condition. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
