Circa 1932 Lou Gehrig Signed Magazine Photograph. One of the greatest portrait photographs ever taken of the noble Iron Horse made the inside front cover of the December 1932 issue of "Baseball Magazine," a publication that reported on the glory of the last Yankees World Championship of the Ruth era. One fan set about getting the image autographed by the photogenic superstar, apparently through the mail, as Gehrig's address in New Rochelle, NY is written on the back of the page (the magazine cover). Gehrig's black ink inscription is boldly applied, averaging 9/10 in strength and reading, "To Sandy, Best Wishes, Lou Gehrig." A small tear at left edge, well clear of the central focus of the image, is reported in the interest of full disclosure, but the page otherwise is free of any distractions, and is professionally framed to allow viewing of front and back. Framed dimensions 14.5x16.5". Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
