    Description

Circa 1932 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. Red and blue stitched OAL (Barnard) ball dates to the era of the famous "Called Shot" and features its author on the sweet spot, the blue fountain pen signature surviving with a boldness of 5/10. We must report that his fellow Yanks who came along for a ride on this vintage horsehide have not fared quite so well, but Gehrig is discernible at 1/10 above the Barnard stamping, as is Tony Lazzeri below "The Cushioned Cork Center" stamping. Red Ruffing and Bob Meusel (below Barnard stamping) finish off the roster in similar fashion. An imperfect specimen, admittedly, but it's a glass half full in our estimation, bringing the Yankee pantheon into a more democratic price range. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
