    Description

Circa 1930 Rabbit Maranville Single Signed Baseball. Soon after having been named manager of the 1925 Cubs, he made his rounds through a Pullman car dumping water on sleeping players' heads and announcing, "No sleeping under Maranville management, especially at night!" Despite his irreverent nature, the tiny infielder is remembered as one of the era's top talents, earning a Hall of Fame plaque for his efforts. Sadly, that day came months after his passing in January of 1954, limiting the availability of his important autograph to the collecting hobby. The presented ball provides a "Best Wishes from Rabbit Maranville" sweet spot inscription, with a small scuff affecting the word "from" and the first letter of Rabbit's surname, leaving the rest essentially 9/10 in strength. The black and red stitching and faint remnants of a Spalding logo allow us to identify the sphere as an ONL breed. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
