    Description

Circa 1930 John McGraw Signed Oversized Photograph. Perhaps the best signed John McGraw photograph you will ever see, the image on offer here is an outstanding studio portrait of the young ballplayer dressed to the nines in jacket, tie, and vest. With his arm resting on a chair back, McGraw turns to the camera, offering a look of intensity and confidence.

Originally offered in thanks for a forgiven debt to an innkeeper in McGraw's hometown of Truxton, New York who provided lodging to the future Hall of Famer early in his ballplaying days. The fine photography would stand on its own in a quality New York Giants collection, but the addition of a splendid (9/10) fountain pen inscription at upper right makes this an absolute treasure.

Beautifully matted and framed (19x24") with an engraved inscription plate attached to the mat which recounts the career accomplishments of John 'Little Napoleon' McGraw as a player and manager. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
