    Description

Circa 1930 John McGraw Signed Cut Document. The prototypical gruff early twentieth century manager, Mugsy McGraw trails only Connie Mack on the all-time managerial victories list with 2,763. Here we find him posing between a pair of teammates dressed in the early 1930's uniform style. Coach Tom Clarke has autographed the vintage 6x9" photo, which shows some emulsion loss and tape at bottom. But it's the signature matted below that's the real attraction here, McGraw's black fountain pen ink registering at an impressive 9/10 level on a clipping from a lined page. A signature on the verso is barely visible through the paper and does not distract. The simple matting and framing extends final dimensions to 13.5x14.5". Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
