Circa 1930 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. They outpaced even the famed duo of Mantle and Maris in their long ball artistry, and any baseball featuring this immortal pair demands respect. This is a particularly fine example, featuring an 8.5/10 black fountain pen signature from Ruth on the sweet spot and another just half a shade lighter from Gehrig on the panel to the north. It must also be noted that the southern panel holds a third autograph, William "Lena" Styles, which allows us to date the ball to 1931 or before, the close of his short career. The medium is a "Harwood's National League Ball," which convincingly apes the appearance of OAL spheres of the day, adding to the aesthetic appeal. With Styles at the southernmost tip of the ball when Ruth is displayed upright, the ball convincingly displays as a duo, making it all the more interesting to the knowledgeable collector.
