Circa 1900 Morgan Bulkeley Handwritten Signed Note, PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. A Civil War veteran whose brother perished in combat, Bulkeley founded the Hartford Dark Blues of the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players in 1874, soon bringing curve ball pioneer Candy Cummings into the fold. Two years after the birth of the Blues, Bulkeley took the oath as the first president of the National League, an honor which likely secured his future Hall of Fame induction. His Cooperstown residence makes his an essential autograph, and this brief note, "I am pleased to comply with your request and subscribe myself. Yours truly, MG Bulkeley," will serve nicely. PSA/DNA assigns a NM-MT 8 rating to the piece. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8.
