1963-67 Philadelphia 76ers Signed Payroll Checks Lot of 14.

UPDATE: After the catalog went to print, this item was encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic.

A hard find in any era, NBA payroll checks are a rarity in the hobby. This lot spans the Philadelphia 76ers franchises' first four season in The City of Brotherly Love, after their move from Syracuse where they previously played as the Nationals.

Six Hall of Famers are included here, with Dolph Schayes (NBA Top 50), Eddie Gottlieb (former owner of the Philadelphia franchise and an NBA "founder"), Alex Hannum (dated during the 1966-67 championship season when he served as head coach), Chet Walker (one of the deadliest one-on-one players of the era), Hal Greer (best pull-up jumper of the day), and Larry Costello (who played on the 1967 title team). Others include All-Stars Johnny Kerr and Luke Jackson, plus Bianchi, Gambee, Courtin, Neumann, Shaffer, and Dierking. Note: the last three players were traded to the Warriors for Wilt Chamberlain on January 15, 1965, the exact day that the Dierking check is dated. All signatures are 9/10. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
