Description
1962 Carlo Gambino Signed Check. Notorious mob boss and head of the Gambino organized crime family named in his honor, Carlo Gambino was born in Palermo, Sicily in 1902 and died in Massapequa, Long Island in 1976. Although Gambino preferred to keep a low profile he was involved in some of the most infamous Mafia related activity of the 20th century; "Don Carlo" as he came to be known was considered the Boss of Bosses after the fall of Vito Genovese in 1959 and until his death in 1976. This Chase Manhattan Bank check #1431 from the account of S.G.S. Associates in the amount of $476.12 was made payable to the order of: Bing & Bing Inc. (sounds like a mafia-front to us) and co-signed by Gambino himself and George Shiller, and was written on January, 16 1962. Cancelation stamp slightly impedes the signature of Gambino, but eye appeal remains strong. No creases are evident in the 3x8.5" note. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.Auction Info
