    Description

1942 Walter Johnson Signed Check. Though no radar existed during Johnson's pitching days, it is likely that his fastball clocked somewhere in the neighborhood of one hundred miles an hour, a simply terrifying sight for Dead Ball Era batsmen who faced him. But almost as notable as Johnson's power was his gentle good nature, so while most batters failed to dig in at the plate out of fear, the always savvy Ty Cobb reported that he would crowd the plate even more when facing him, knowing that Johnson was privately nervous about injuring an opposing player. Here we present one of the finest autographs from one half of the 400 Win Club on a check filled out and signed entirely in Johnson's hand. All ink is 10/10, and the check presents a single fold and hole from a filing spike at center, neither of which intersect with the autograph or cause any visual problems. The check is encapsulated by PSA/DNA for protection and unquestioned authenticity.
