    Description

1940 Babe Ruth Signed Check. The Bambino delivered this check to the Chemical Bank office at Broadway and West 72nd Street, not far from his Upper West Side apartment, in order to withdraw $150 in cash. All writing, including his standard "GH Ruth" check autograph, appears in the boldest of black fountain pen ink, and the bank punch coding remains well clear of the signature. The check itself is free of any creasing, tearing or staining, and is attractively presented beneath a nicely rendered vintage artistic portrait of the Babe in his prime. Full framed dimensions are 18x22". A top-tier example of this cherished hobby commodity. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

    Guide Value or Estimate: $4,000 - $6,000.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
