1938 Babe Ruth Signed Check, PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. The Babe was enjoying his final season in a Big League uniform as a first base coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers when he signed this check in 9/10 blue fountain pen ink made payable for $337 to "Irving J. Sperber," a Manhattan dentist. This is the desirable large check format with "Babe Ruth" printed at left side, and all text but Ruth's signature is typed. A single vertical fold appears at center, and while we haven't examined the check out of its frame, the unusual matting style suggests some wear to its lower corners. It's a beautiful display piece however, artfully paired with a Red Sox-era photo (modern print) of the youthful Babe. Full framed dimensions are 19x20". Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
