    Description

1931 Bert Bell & Bill Hewitt Dual-Signed Check, BAS Authentic. In the football autograph collecting community, few exemplars possess the same amount of desirability as a signature from the legendary Bill Hewitt. Probably remembered most for his refusal to wear a helmet (he was the last NFL player not to wear one), Hewitt endorsed the back of this $250 check that was also signed by fellow Hall of Famer and Philadelphia Eagles co-founder Bert Bell. Signed by each in solid steel-tip ink, the 3x8" check exhibits mild wear. Extremely rare and significant piece from the former Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles player, who died in a car crash in 1947. Encapsulated by Beckett Authentication Services, Authentic. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
