1927 Jacob Ruppert/Ed Barrow Dual-Signed Payroll Check. Perhaps the two most responsible in building the dynasty that is today the New York Yankees are ex-owner Jacob Ruppert and GM Ed Barrow. The check we offer here provides both signatures in amazingly pristine brown fountain ink, both seeming as if they were signed last week rather than in 1927. Punch coding on the check is well clear of the bold Ruppert signature. Barrow has countersigned the check along the left edge. Central crease in check is barely noticeable and the display possibilities are abound with these two amazing signatures. This payroll check is made out to Paul Krichell, the great scout for the Yankees from 1920-57 whose discoveries included Gehrig, Ford, Lazzeri and Raschi. Krichell's fine ink signature is found on the check's reverse, and has been minutely intruded upon by the bank's punch coding. LOA from PSA/DNA.
