1925 Wally Pipp Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check. Ideal vintage of the presented check is noted on verso as representing "Salary Apr. 14-30th," just one month before he took "the two most expensive aspirins in history," sitting out with a headache that would allow a young Lou Gehrig to begin his 2,130 game streak. A payment of "$982.60" is authorized by the dual signatures of Ed Barrow and Jake Ruppert on the front, and endorsed by Pipp on verso. All autographs are 8/10 or better and the check presents nicely with no notable condition flaws. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
