    Description

1925 Urban Shocker Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check. He posted an eighteen and six record for the fabled 1927 Yankees and succumbed to pneumonia just a year later, ensuring that the most unusual name from the Murderer's Row-era Yankees roster would likewise be its most challenging autograph. Here we find a solid 9/10 example in a particularly appealing format, endorsing a 1925 payroll check likewise autographed by Hall of Famer Ed Barrow and team president Jake Ruppert. Their autographs rate 9/10 and 10/10 respectively. The check itself presents a vertical center fold which remains clear of all signatures and typical bank stamping and punch coding, otherwise fine. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
