    Description

1925 Billy Sunday "Farewell Offering" Signed Check. William Ashley "Billy" Sunday eked out a living playing major league baseball in fits and spurts for a trio of National League clubs during the 1880s before eventually finding a higher calling. By 1924, when Elizabeth Harding donated $5 to the Lord via Sunday, he had become the most famous evangelist in all of North America. Dated "Dec. 8 (1925)", the 3.75x8.5" note exhibits moderate-to-heavy sun damage on the upper three-quarters, a 1" tear along the right edge, and a pair of creases - one running the length horizontally and the other vertically (with a slight impediment to the signature of Sunday). The Preacher has signed in the lower left corner in solid steel tip ink. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
