    Description

1924 Bob Gilks Signed New York Yankees Payroll Check. Gilks was one of the premier scouts of his day, known for grabbing a spare uniform and working out with the bush leaguers in order to get the closest view possible of prospective talent. Presented is a July 31, 1924 check made payable to Gilks, signed by Hall of Fame executives Ed Barrow and Jake Ruppert on the front and endorsed by Gilks on reverse. Barrow is 8/10, the others 9/10 or better. Check exhibits no noteworthy flaws. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
