1923 William Veeck Sr. Signed Chicago Cubs Team Check. William L. Veeck, Sr. switched teams in 1918. He went from being a sportswriter critical of Cubs management to actually being one of the team's executives. As president, the senior Veeck guided his ballclub to pennants in 1929 and 1932. He was also a trailblazer in the area of inter-league summer games, which gained popularity toward the end of Veeck's life before dying with him in 1933. The offered team check was made out to "Marshall Field & Co." and signed by Veeck on June 14,1923. It is drawn on the Cubs' team account at the Boulevard Bridge Bank of Chicago and measures 3.5x8.5" with moderate wear. Veeck's black fountain pen signature is untouched by the check's standard bank cancellations. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
