    Description

1921 Honus Wagner Signed Check. Just four years removed from a Hall of Fame playing career that saw the Old Dutchman lead the National League in batting average eight times and register better than 3,400 hits, Wagner filled out this personal check drawn from a "The First National Bank" account in his Carnegie, PA hometown. His unmistakable blue fountain pen writing, paying an automobile insurance premium, is exceptionally bold to the point of bleeding ever so slightly from ink overkill, and closes with the desirable "John H. Wagner" authorizing signature. The check exhibits typical bank punch coding and stamping but is otherwise free of condition concerns. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
