    Description

1920 Honus Wagner Signed Check. Just three years removed from a Hall of Fame playing career that saw the Old Dutchman lead the National League in batting average eight times and register better than 3,400 hits, Wagner filled out this personal check drawn from a "Carnegie (PA) Trust Company" account. His unmistakable black fountain pen writing, paying auto repairman "J.J. Clatty" the sum of $118.60, remains in splendid 9/10 condition, closing with the desirable "John H. Wagner" authorizing signature. Some toning brushes the right and lower edges of the check, but just barely skims a single letter of Wagner's writing, to no measurable effect. A half-inch tear at upper right is similarly benign. A solid example. LOA from PSA/DNA.
