    Description

1920 Honus Wagner Signed Check/Cut. With 3,420 hits and a career batting average of .328, Honus Wagner was entirely deserving of being named to the inaugural Hall of Fame class in 1936. Arguably the greatest shortstop in baseball history, he also displayed a supreme amount of speed, as evidenced by his 723 steals. In his later years, Wagner signed a decent amount for fans, but early autographs of "Hans" are more difficult to come by. This particular signature is the right hand side of a March 2, 1920 check for twenty dollars. The John H. Wagner signature is in stellar 10/10 condition, and aside from being cut, the check remnant is free of any obverse defects. The verso has some light glue stains from previously being pasted into an album, most likely. this lot also includes a 1980 Perez Steele postcard so the winning bidder may choose to pair up with the cut for a framed display. the postcard has tape remnants on the back, but the front displays perfectly. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
