    Description

1965-68 Rico Carty Game Used Bat Signed by Roberto Clemente, PSA/DNA GU 9.
Clemente are Carty were numbers one and two in the 1964 race for the National League batting title, but Carty would win one of his own in 1970. Each man was an early pioneer in the rising influence of Caribbean talent in the Majors, so it's particularly interesting to find them linked together by this remarkable relic.

The Hillerich & Bradsby C252 exhibits excellent game use from Dominican-born Carty, with ball marks, rack marks and a number "25" in marker on the knob. Handle is uncracked. Length thirty-four and a half inches (34.5"), weight thirty-four and a half ounces (34.5 oz.).

But the primary appeal of this piece is the finest Clemente autograph we've ever encountered on a bat, a booming 9/10 black marker application in the legend's distinctive script. We suspect it was Carty himself who sought out the Puerto Rican superstar for an autograph, retiring his own bat for the purpose. A wonderful display piece. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.
