1955 Bob Cerv World Series Bat Signed by New York Yankees Team. This one should be a duel to the finish between the autograph collectors and the bat collectors, as the signature model Hillerich & Bradsby K55 will carry tremendous appeal to each group. Though the bat does not show any apparent use, the engraved block lettering on barrel stating that it was issued for use in the historically important 1955 World Series sets it apart from the pack. Length and weight of thirty-five and three quarter inches and thirty-four and a half ounces are proper for Cerv's preferred models. We place this bat in the autograph section, however, as it is one of the few we have seen signed by this powerful 1950's Yankees team. Thirty-three autographs coat its surface, notably Mantle, Rizzuto, Berra, Ford, Stengel, Howard, Skowron, Larsen and Martin. The blue ink signatures average 7/10 in boldness, quite impressive for ink on wood, which usually makes for a poor combination but works well here. Cerv's later autograph is perfect in black sharpie. LOA's from PSA/DNA for both bat and autographs.
