1926 Grantland Rice Multi Signed Testimonial Banquet Program - With Rockne, Yost, Stagg, etc. Commonly referred to as the "Dean of American Sports Writers," after his columns were nationally syndicated in 1930, Grantland Rice is best known for his famed account of the 1924 Notre Dame vs. Army game at the Polo Grounds, and Fighting Irish stars Stuhldreher, Miller, Crowley and Layden, who he dubbed "The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame."

Two years after that highly significant moment in sports history, Rice was honored at a luncheon conducted by the Chicago Athletic Association, by E.C. Patterson, which featured a host of notable speakers and attendees.

Offered here is an original 7.5x9.5" program from the event, which is a four-page satirical-styled newspaper, featuring the famed sports writer and his fellow college football fellows. Exhibiting EX quality throughout, the back has been signed by an array of recognizable names, each presenting Mint ink or pencil (except one of the signatures), and including the following keys: Knute Rockne, Robert Zuppke, Fielding Yost, Amos Alonzo Stagg, and the man of the hour Grantland Rice. A true Holy Grail piece suitable for any college gridiron enthusiast. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
