    Description

Roy Sievers Single Signed Ball With Lengthy Inscription. A wonderful single signed example from the great slugger and 1949 AL Rookie of the Year. At a time when achieving 300 home runs was still a rarity, Sievers became only the 18th ballplayer to reach the plateau. He also holds the dubious distinction of being the first member to hit 300 home runs and not make the Baseball Hall of Fame. Roy signed this OAL (Selig) ball and added his nickname "Squirrel". He also added "1949 A.L. ROY, STL Browns 5X All Star. Sievers was good friends with Cool Papa Bell, and when asked to write about Cool Papa on the ball, he adds "Cool Papa was a great ballplayer". Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
