Mid-1920's Sam Rice Signed Baseball. The Ban Johnson stamping on this highly desirable red and blue stitched Official American League baseball allows us to date this offering definitively to the period prior to Ernest Barnard's 1928 assumption of the League presidency, suggesting a close proximity to the Washingon Senators' most glorious era. One of that club's most noteworthy stars, Hall of Fame outfielder Sam Rice, appears in 8/10 black fountain pen ink upon a side panel, providing the appearance of a $3,000+ single. We must confess that a chemical process has stripped the sphere of earlier neighbors to Rice, though this work has been done with such skill so as to be undetectable by the naked eye. Definitely a Senator worthy of your vote. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
