Description

Late 1950's Mickey Mantle Single Signed Baseball. The Mick inches slowly toward the autograph variation he utilized for the final three decades of his life, an intriguing study of the evolution of one of the hobby's most popular signatures. The medium is an OAL (Harridge) ball, assuring the creation is no later than 1959, when the Junior Circuit reins were handed to Joe Cronin. The side panel ink rates 8/10: "To Edith, My Best Wishes, Mickey Mantle." Playing-days singles are far more scarce (and thus desirable) than the autograph show-era examples. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
