Late 1930's Hall of Famers Multi-Signed Baseball with Ruth, Gehrig, Foxx. A dazzling constellation of stars makes this OAL (Harridge) ball one of the most intriguing autographed pieces within this auction. Twenty-seven of the thirty-five gentlemen to have made their mark on this historic sphere are enshrined at Cooperstown, making this quite possibly the largest compilation of pre-war Hall of Famers ever seen on a single baseball. The thrilling relic derives from the estate of Ed Gilliland, general manager of the St. Louis Browns and remains in stunning condition, with all autographs (unless otherwise noted) projecting at a strength of 7/10 at a minimum. And so, without further delay, the cast of characters: Ruth, Gehrig (5/10), Paul Waner, Stengel, Harris, Traynor (6/10), Grove, Hartnett, Cronin, Frisch, Foxx, Feller, Dickey (6/10), Grimes, Greenberg, Terry, Medwick, DiMaggio (2/10), Mack, Simmons, Cochrane, Hubbell, McCarthy (6/10), Gomez (6/10), Gehringer, Cochrane, McKechnie, Lobert, Street, Grimm, Jim Wilson, VanderMeer, Vernon Kennedy and Vitt. We must also note that Grimes, Terry, Medwick, Frisch and McCarthy are secretarially signed. A piece for the most discerning of collectors, or for those who wish to kill a large flock of birds with a single stone. This single purchase will result in one heck of an autograph collection.
