    Description

Late 1920's Ty Cobb Single Signed Baseball. The first man enshrined at Cooperstown provides the boldest side panel signature imaginable upon this OAL baseball dating to the presidency of Ernest Barnard, suggesting the red and blue stitched sphere was likely signed during the Peach's farewell tour with the Philadelphia Athletics. Unquestionably among the strongest playing-days singles we've ever encountered from the first 4,000 hit man, the ancient horsehide exhibits apparent game use that makes us dream that Cobb might have laced one of his last base knocks utilizing it. A thin coating of shellac over the signature deserves most of the credit for the ink's impressive strength. A first-rate specimen of this hobby essential. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
