Description

Late 1920's Mickey Cochrane Signed Baseball. Fantastic early inscription is guaranteed to predate the Hall of Fame catcher's 1934 trade to the Detroit Tigers, though we are quite confident of 1920's vintage from the rare "Cock of the Walk" model baseball upon which it resides. Mutt Mantle's favorite ballplayer inscribed the side panel, "To Morris, Best Wishes, Mickey Cochrane, Athletics," his black fountain pen ink surviving with 7/10 boldness. Very close inspection will unearth an all but invisible Babe Ruth autograph on the opposite hemisphere (we cannot comment as to the authenticity of the Ruth), but this ball very convincingly presents as a rare single. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
