    Description

Late 1920's Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Signed Baseball. "They didn't get along," Tony Lazzeri once said of his fellow Hall of Fame Yankee teammates. "Lou thought Ruth was a big-mouth, and Ruth thought Gehrig was cheap. They were both right." Despite the quiet feud that followed the duo throughout much of their eleven seasons in pinstripes together, no two ballplayers remain linked quite so firmly in baseball's history book. Presented here is a fine specimen pairing the lead assassins of Murderer's Row, with Ruth claiming his standard sweet spot position and Gehrig in his shadow to the north. Ruth's signature mellows from black to blue due to oxidation of the fountain pen ink, but maintains a strength of 7/10 to 8/10 through its form. Gehrig's autograph is equally impressive. The iconic Yankees' appearance upon an Official National League baseball suggests a real possibility that the autographs were obtained at a Fall Classic contest, adding further appeal to a baseball with no lack thereof. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
