Hack Wilson And Gabby Hartnett Multi Signed Baseball. Hack Wilson is remembered for turning in one of the greatest playing seasons of all time in 1930. He led the Major Leagues in RBI with a staggering 191, and in home runs, with 56. He was enshrined into the Hall of Fame in 1979. Hartnett was a .297 career hitter, he was named the National League MVP in 1935 and led the Cubs to four pennants during his 20-year career. He will best be remembered, however, for his dramatic 1938 late season "Homer in the Gloamin'" which defeated the Pirates and helped clinch the pennant for the Cubs. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1955. The Hall of Famer is generally regarded as the greatest catcher in the National League prior to the days of Johnny Bench. Woody English was a cog to the Cubs lineups in 1929 he scored 131 Runs, in 30' he scored 152 runs, and in 31' 117 runs, finishing 4th in the MVP race that year.
Taking into consideration the magnitude of the three players it would be hard to fathom a better trio of Cubby Bears to sign a piece of memorabilia. The Blue and Red stitched O.N.L.(John Heydler) Spalding baseball has some mild scuffing but has held up in remarkable condition considering its age. The rare full name signatures add another level of desirability to this relic, Lewis "Hack" Wilson, Leo "Gabby" Hartnett and Woody English have all signed on one panel- Wilson being the strongest of the three.
