Early 1940's Babe Ruth Single Signed Baseball. The "two star" format of Harridge presidential stamping on the presented OAL sphere dates this signature to the 1940-45 era, a period dominated by the American involvement in the Second World War. As many of the game's best served their country overseas, the iconic Bambino kept the home fires burning with countless public appearances in support of our National Pastime, the likely derivation of this exquisite single. Ruth's black fountain pen ink projects from the sweet spot with conservative 8/10 boldness, and the ball itself is lightly and evenly toned with the passing decades. A half-shade lighter and this is a ball soaring past the $50,000 mark, but it's still quite a beauty as is, well deserving of a place of honor in your trophy room. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
