Early 1920's Walter Johnson, Clark Griffith & More Signed Baseball. Unusual compilation of Washington Senators and Boston Braves (and Red Sox) suggests that this OAL (Johnson) ball likely derives from spring training grounds, or was shuttled around by a fan to both Beantown ballparks over a period of weeks, months or years. In any regard, this fan seemed to have a decent eye for talent, as five of the sixteen signers would one day find themselves immortalized in Cooperstown bronze: Walter Johnson, Sam Rice, Bucky Harris, Clark Griffith and Red Ruffing. Other noteworthy names include Al Schact, Nick Altrock, Joe Judge and Firpo Marberry. The autographs survive with impressive boldness, none falling more than a point off the 7/10 average pace, with several charting higher. Ball itself presents very well and appears to have game used prior to its signing. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
