Circa 1980 Joe Oeschger Single Signed Baseball. He once struck out a side with nine pitches, and was part of a four-man trade with Hall of Famers Southworth, Stengel and Bancroft, but this six-foot right-hander is best remembered in baseball lore for a game witnessed by just 2,000 spectators at Braves Field on May 1, 1920. Facing the eventual National League Champion Brooklyn Robins, Oeschger found himself tied with opposing pitcher Leon Cadore at a run apiece after nine, and then battled through seventeen more scoreless frames until darkness denied the pair a conclusion. The Braves iron man has applied his signature and the notation "26" to the side panel of the provided ONL (Feeney) baseball. An unknown hand writes "May 1, 1920" below. Ball exhibits some toning, but the intense rarity of the piece renders any such concerns moot. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
